Don’t you want to be that dad who’s known for that one, awesome recipe? The meal that you make every Friday night and the kids light up at the mention of it? You may not be the world’s best chef, but you should be able to hold the title for one awesome Dad Recipe. Let that be pizza. Kids can’t get enough of it, grown ups love it, and you can have total control over what your kids are eating (like hidden veggies).
Toppings aside, it’s the pizza crust that you really need to master. With a wicked crust, you could put anything on it and it would still be delicious. What’s even better, with this Dad Recipe you don’t need to keep a steady stock of homemade pizza dough ingredients. All you need is flour, baking powder, salt, milk, and olive oil. That’s right, you read that correctly. Killer pizza dough, no yeast.
What You’ll Need:
*2 2/3 Cup of Flour
*2 tsp Baking Powder
*1 tsp Salt
*1 Cup of Milk (Skim is best, but any will do)
*4 tbsp of Olive Oil
How to Make It:
1) Mix all of your dry ingredients together
2) Then slowly add in the milk and oil
3) Knead…er, mix with your hands a few times until a soft dough forms
4) Set aside and cover for 10 minutes
5) Roll out on a greased baking pan (I fit it on a large cookie sheet)
6) Bake at 400 for 8-10 minutes
7) Remove, cool, then add toppings of choice
8) Throw back in the oven for another 25 minutes
This pizza dough recipe is literally foolproof, and you only need basic household ingredients to make it. The pizza comes out light, non-greasy, and the kids will devour it. At least mine do, anyway!
Note: Not that we need to, but to make this recipe even more awesome you can easily switch it to gluten free by swapping out the flour for rice flour. The dough ends up being a tad thinner, but still just as good.
